Road bike route description
Here is a short loop to do in the early morning before you stay on the beach.
It can be done from Benalmadena, or from Fuengirola going down to Benalmadena. Honestly speaking, the climb from Benalmadena is nicer and with less traffic.
From the waterfront, take the road Fr. Garcia Lorca along the Parque de Palomas until you get to the A-368. Then turn left and keep on this road through Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel, ride under the highway climbing in the direction of Mijas. A nice surface which leads among the pines and 1km before Mijas turn right over the unnamed road to reach the broadcast station. You will ride about 5km among the pines with some amazing views. There is no section under 10%, so make sure you have enough energy.
After spending time and taking pics, take the same road down to the crossroad and turn right to the Mijas village. At the beginning, turn left on the roundabout and enjoy descending to Fuengirola over the A-387.
While being in Fuengirola, you can combine the coastal road with the promenade to come back to Benalmadena.
